Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Staff PLT RV Integration Lead Systems Engineer to join its team of diverse and qualified individuals. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program in the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Systems Engineer to join the team supporting activities including use case development, requirements definition / allocation, functional decomposition, interface definition, verification & validation, and requirements traceability. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Technical oversight of a large subcontract for Nuclear Certified Support Equipment and Delta Flight Test Vehicle as well as other projects within the sub-IPT
  • Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems
  • Interface with the AF customer and external stakeholders such as National Labs
  • Coordinate presentations for on-base meetings with USAF and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts. 
  • Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large programs design. 
  • Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model. 
  • Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical). 
  • Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis. 
  • Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration). 

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires 12 years of relatable work experience with Bachelors Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM); 10 years with a Masters; or 8 years with a PhD
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Hill Airforce Base access 
  • Requires 9 years of experience with ICBM Reentry Systems, Reentry Vehicles, or Warhead National Labs
  • Requires experience with the design of the Mk21 RV and integration of nuclear warheads into ICBM weapon systems
  • Requires 5 years of experience with Nuclear Certified Support Equipment and/or Flight Test Vehicles
  • Requires experience with ECAD software including block diagrams, system wiring diagrams and build to print orders
  • Requires electrical design and/or electrical integration experience
  • Requires 2 years of experience with requirements management/analysis/allocations 
  • Requires 2 years of experience with Model-Based Engineering / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages and/or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody or MagicDRAW 
  • Requires 2 years of experience with one or more of the following: C2, physical security, cybersecurity, communications systems, facility design, military aerospace development 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance 
  • Current Sentinel SAP Access
  • Experience working for the National Labs interfacing with DOE, LLNL, LANL etc. 
  • Experience in USAF POG/POM activities
  • 15 years of experience with ICBM Weapon System, Reentry Systems, Reentry Vehicles, or Warhead National Labs
  • Experience with CPLM
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS 
  • Experience in SysML or UPDM modeling languages
  • Proficiency with the DoDAF, UAF, or other modeling frameworks
  • Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools
  • Experience in Software and/or Hardware design
  • Experience in documenting Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirement Specifications, and Interface Description Documents
  • Experience in the military aerospace development environment 
  • Experience exporting documentation out of a model-based environment
  • Experience with Agile Development
  • Experience with ICBM weapon system sustainment engineering and integration
  • Experience with complex system development on large programs

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Sentinelsystems

Primary Level Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
