Textron Systems is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to add to the Material Estimating Team. The focus of this role is to aid the various business units as well as supply chain in providing the most accurate material estimates possible and preparing the internal customers for any risk they may encounter while executing the program from start to finish. This role will involve sourcing all commodities to obtain the best pricing at the lowest risk while following all Federal Acquisition Requirements (FAR). Once material estimates are gathered from suppliers or utilizing historical actuals/estimates, this role will perform analytics utilizing various internal and external resources to assess inflationary impacts, tariff impacts, etc. to conclude various costs profiles based on risk. Outside of pricing, the individual will need to assess the risk level of suppliers by analyzing reports that provide information on supplier quality, delivery rating, and financial standing.

Responsibilities will also include collaborating with all other functions of Textron Systems supply chain organization to help with the continued implementation of Supply Chain 2.0. Proper escalation of issues is also imperative to the success of the material estimating team and is a strong focus area within the role. The Analyst will interact with many different programs and represent the estimating team in various gate reviews, up to and including the Senior Vice Presidents of the different organizations inside of Textron Systems. It is expected that this candidate will deliver high quality and professional statements and presentations relative to material proposal estimates with various risk profiles and assessments by commodity groups and economic spanet projections to enable the best, lowest risk recommendation to be chosen for submission. Key Responsibilities

• Solicit and analyze quotes from suppliers based on provided bill of materials to ensure accurate and cost-effective estimates for proposals.

• Provide timely and precise material cost estimates to internal customers, leveraging the latest spanet data and supplier quotes.

• Review and validate supplier quotes for competitiveness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements, identifying cost-saving opportunities.

• Analyze supplier records and collaborate with the supply chain team to make informed decisions regarding single/sole source suppliers, escalating issues as necessary.

• Develop and implement cost estimation processes and tools, continuously improving accuracy and efficiency.

• Participate in cross-functional meetings and project reviews, offering insights on material costs and supplier-related issues.

• Train and mentor junior team members, sharing best practices to enhance team capabilities.

• Conduct spanet research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and new suppliers.

• Collaborate with Proposal Managers, Bidders, Procurement, and other Estimators to develop and maintain cost proposals.

• Maintain and update cost estimating databases and tools, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.

• Analyze historical data and spanet trends to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.

• Proven experience in material estimating, cost analysis, or a similar role.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, and data visualization tools like charts and graphs.

• Experience with Excel macros and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) for automating repetitive tasks and enhancing data analysis capabilities is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and effectively in a team-oriented environment.

• Experience with supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).

• Familiarity with procurement processes and supplier relationship management

• Strong understanding of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and its application in defense contracting, ensuring compliance in cost estimating and procurement processes.

The pay range should be used as a general guide only. Compensation is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as spanet and business considerations.

In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is

$85,900 - $129,700 per year.
