Responsibilities
This role leads the creation and optimization of the airline’s flight schedules. This role is pivotal in driving maximum aircraft utilization, profitability, and on-time performance while aligning with the commercial, operational, and regulatory frameworks of a low-cost carrier (LCC) business model.
- Leads end-to-end development of seasonal and rolling schedules, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts, aircraft availability, airport slot constraints, and commercial objectives.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with Network Planning, Revenue Management, Operations, Maintenance, Airport Affairs, and Crew Planning teams to ensure feasibility and efficiency of flight schedules.
- Optimizes aircraft routing and utilization to support high asset productivity and minimal ground time, in line with LCC cost structures.
- Drives schedule modeling, scenario planning, and “what-if” analyses to evaluate network and market opportunities.
- Ensures timely submission of schedules to regulatory bodies, slot coordinators, and global distribution systems (GDS).
- Develops and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to schedule efficiency, aircraft utilization, turn times, and OTP impact.
- Leads team of schedule planners and analysts; coaches, develops, and retain top scheduling talent.
- Supports schedule-related commercial initiatives including new route launches, frequency adjustments, and recovery planning.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Transportation, Business, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6-10 years experience in airline schedule planning, network planning, or operations planning.
- Proven expertise in schedule optimization tools (e.g., Sabre, Zulu, OASIS or similar planning systems).
- Strong analytical and modeling skills with proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional projects and teams.
- Deep understanding of airline operational constraints and how they impact scheduling.
- Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of airline economics and route profitability.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with lean teams and evolving processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to influence executive stakeholders with data-backed insights.
- Passion for aviation, innovation, and low-cost carrier efficiency.

Pushing/Pulling: Seldom pushing/pulling of light items within the workspace. Standing/Sitting Requirements: Primarily seated work, with occasional standing for brief tasks. Bending/Kneeling/Reaching: Occasional reaching within arm’s length to retrieve materials. Coordination: Basic manual coordination for standard office tasks (e.g., typing, using office equipment). Vision/Auditory Requirements: Clear vision for reading documents and screens; clear hearing for standard communication. Environmental Conditions: Indoor, climate-controlled environment. Safety Equipment: None required.
