Amentum is seeking an Aircrew Flight Equipment (AFE) Worker to provide support for a position located at Tyndall AFB, FL.
Responsibilities
- Performs maintenance on and certifies the air worthiness of life-saving aircrew flight equipment and drone recovery systems.
- Assembles, disassembles, inspects, repairs and repacks survival kits, personnel, drogue, deceleration and air-recovery parachutes.
- Performs inspections including; visual, functional, in-process, quality control and critical points inspections on survival kits, parachutes and flotation devices. Inspects, evaluates and certifies repair of damaged lifesaving and recovery systems.
- Repairs damaged canopy sections, suspension lines, parachute containers and other associated equipment; troubleshoots and diagnoses system failures.
- Decontaminates drone recovery parachutes and associated systems from salt water. Removes, installs, inspects and stores explosive devices up to Division 1.3.
- Completes time compliance technical orders. Documents maintenance actions in AFE maintenance data collection systems.
- Responsibilities also include the manufacture, repair and modification of rubber, fabric or other textile components on personnel, drogue, deceleration, air-recovery parachutes, survival kits and flotation devices.
- Uses, inspects and maintains hand tools, power tools, manual and electric hydraulic presses, industrial sewing machines and other applicable support equipment; may perform repairs to include disassembly, repair and reassembly of equipment and components in accordance with technical data.
- Monitors Composite Tool Kits, Technical Orders and Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment in accordance with established standards.
- Maintains, stores and disposes of hazardous materials in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations.
- Requests supplies ensuring sufficient serviceable stock levels.
- Ensures compliance with safety and technical directives.
- Trains and certifies lesser qualified employees.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 7 year’s fighter aircraft experience in inspecting and packing personnel, deceleration and cargo parachutes.
- Experience inspecting and packing aircrew survival equipment.
- Proficient in fabrication and sewing.
- Possess Survival Equipment AFSC. (1P0X1)
- Overtime and weekends may be required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
Compensation
This position is represented by a union collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with an hourly rate of pay at $38.70.
